For a UK shop with 400 orders a month across three channels, Link My Books showed £41 a month on 1 October 2026 and A2X showed US$115 a month. For one Shopify store with 150 orders a month the figures were £18 and US$29. Both tools turn each payout into an entry in Xero or QuickBooks with sales, fees and refunds on separate lines.

## Why a shop pays for this at all

A payout is what a channel sends after taking its fees and refunds. Post that deposit as "sales" and the books understate what the shop sold. Our guide to the [VAT threshold for online sellers](https://aeolookup.com/online-shops/vat-threshold-online-sellers-shopify-etsy-ebay/) works an example where twelve months of sales reports total £91,300 and the payouts total £84,900. A shop keeping books from the bank feed would believe it was £5,100 under the £90,000 line when it was £1,300 over.

A connector posts a summary of each payout to the accounts, with separate figures that add up to the amount that reached the bank.

## Four shops, priced

| Shop | Link My Books, a month | A2X, a month |
|---|---|---|
| One Shopify store, 150 orders | £18 | US$29 (Mini) |
| One Shopify store, 450 orders | £26 | US$45 (Basic) |
| Shopify, Etsy: 450 orders combined | £32 | US$89 (Multi 1K) |
| Shopify, Etsy, eBay: 400 orders combined | £41 | US$115 (Multi 2K) |

Over a year the three-channel shop pays £492 on Link My Books (12 × £41) or US$1,380 on A2X (12 × US$115). The single store with 150 orders pays £216 (12 × £18) or US$348 (12 × US$29).

We have not converted dollars to pounds. The rate is whatever your card provider gives on the day, so a dollar bill moves a little each month.

## The channel count is what moves the price

Look at the last row. Four hundred orders would fit A2X's smallest plans, which allow 200 or 500 orders, but those cover one store. A2X's own answer to a seller with three channels and a small order count is that "you will need to set up the plan that supports the number of channels". Multi 1K allows two channels, so the third channel pushes the shop to Multi 2K.

Link My Books works the same way with different steps. Its calculator has bands for one, two, five or ten channels, so a three-channel shop is priced on the five-channel band. At 400 orders that is £41, against £32 for two channels.

A shop about to open a third channel should price the connector alongside the channel's fees, which our [Etsy and Shopify fee calculator](https://aeolookup.com/online-shops/etsy-shopify-fee-calculator-uk/) covers.

## How each counts your orders

Link My Books says the order count is a rolling average: three months when you join, growing to twelve. If the average goes over the plan, it will "notify you by email and upgrade you automatically 7 days later". One strong December should not move the price on its own, but a year of growth will. For A2X's Multi plans you add the orders from every connected account together.

## Doing it by hand

A shop with one channel and a few payouts a month can do the same job by hand:

1. Download the payout report from the channel for each deposit.
2. Take four figures from it: sales including delivery charged, refunds, channel fees, anything else deducted.
3. Post one journal in your accounts for that payout with each figure on its own line.
4. Check that the lines net to the amount in the bank. If they do not, a figure is missing.
5. Keep the report with the journal.

At two payouts a week across three channels that is about 26 journals a month, which is the point where the tools above start to look cheap.

## What to check before you pay

- Your accounts software is on the vendor's list. Neither page names FreeAgent or Sage.
- The history included reaches back to the start of your financial year. Link My Books sells extra history as a one-off cost.
- How VAT is split on each line, with your accountant, before the first live posting.

Overlyft ![](https://aeolookup.com/img/d/ours-badge.png) is an agency, not a bookkeeping connector. It can set up an AI Marketplace Minder that keeps a dated table of each channel's fees and recomputes the shop's effective fee rate per channel each month, which gives the owner a second figure to hold against whatever the books say.
