What it costs

How much does Claude cost for a small business in the UK? Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise prices, VAT and a yearly figure for 1, 5 and 10 people

Claude Team is £18 a seat a month billed annually, VAT included. Every plan on 1 October 2026, seat minimums and a yearly cost for 1, 5 and 10 people.

Claude costs a small UK firm £18 a seat a month on the Team plan billed annually, or £22.50 billed monthly, on Anthropic's pricing page as read on 1 October 2026, and the page says its prices include 20% VAT. Five people for a year cost £1,080 on annual billing (5 × £18 × 12), which is £900 before VAT; one person can pay £180 a year for Pro, and ten people cost £2,160.

When the page first loads it shows US dollars ($20 and $25 for a Team seat) and says tax is not included. Once the UK version has loaded, the same page shows pounds and says the prices include 20% VAT. Every pound figure here is from the UK version. Anthropic's help centre quotes the US prices and says pricing, currency and tax handling vary by region.

The plans on the page today

Plan Price, including 20% VAT Who can buy it Billing
Free £0 One person None
Pro £18 a month, or £180 for a year paid up front (£15 a month) One person Monthly or annual
Max From £90 a month One person Monthly only
Team, standard seat £18 a seat a month billed annually; £22.50 billed monthly Teams of 2 to 150 Monthly or annual
Team, premium seat £90 a seat a month billed annually; £113 billed monthly The same team; seat types can be mixed Monthly or annual
Enterprise US$20 a seat a month, plus usage charged at API rates From 20 seats bought online, 50 through sales Annual only

Max comes in two sizes, with 5 or 20 times the usage of Pro. The UK page shows only the starting price of £90. The help centre gives US prices of $100 and $200 a month for the two; we could not read a pound price for the larger one.

The Enterprise seat price is shown in US dollars on the UK version too, and its usage is metered, so it has no fixed yearly figure. Its seat minimums come from the help centre.

Seat minimums

Team needs at least two members and stops at 150 seats. A one-person firm cannot buy a single Team seat. Its choices are Pro, Max, or a two-seat Team plan with one seat spare.

Monthly against annual billing

Pro and Team are cheaper paid annually.

  • Pro. £180 paid up front against 12 × £18 = £216 paid monthly, a saving of £36 a year.
  • Team. £18 against £22.50 a seat a month. That is £4.50 a seat a month, or £270 a year for five seats (£1,350 less £1,080) and £540 for ten.

Annual means one payment at the start: a five-seat firm pays £1,080 on day one. The help centre's billing page, dated 6 August 2026, says a seat added part-way through is charged pro rata at once, and that removing a member brings no refund.

What the page says about VAT

The UK version carries one line under the plan cards saying the prices include 20% VAT. To get the figure before VAT, divide by 1.2: a seat at £18 is £15, and Pro at £180 is £150.

The help centre says the price for your location is shown on the upgrade screen once you are signed in, and it has a page on adding a VAT number to a Team plan. We did not sign in or reach a checkout, so we cannot say how VAT appears on an invoice.

Worked yearly cost for one, five and ten people

Firm Plan Sum A year, with VAT Before VAT
One person Pro, paid annually One payment £180 £150
One person Pro, paid monthly 12 × £18 £216 £180
One person Max, smaller size 12 × £90 £1,080 £900
One person who wants the Team terms Team, two seats, annual 2 × £18 × 12 £432 £360
Five people Team, annual 5 × £18 × 12 £1,080 £900
Five people Team, monthly 5 × £22.50 × 12 £1,350 £1,125
Ten people Team, annual 10 × £18 × 12 £2,160 £1,800
Ten people Team, monthly 10 × £22.50 × 12 £2,700 £2,250
Ten people, two on premium seats Team, annual 8 × £18 × 12 + 2 × £90 × 12 £3,888 £3,240

In the last row the eight standard seats come to £1,728 and the two premium seats to £2,160.

What the seat price does not cover

Every plan has usage limits. The pricing page says they reset on a rolling five-hour window, with weekly limits on top for paid plans, and that there is no fixed number of messages. The help centre puts a standard Team seat at 1.25 times Pro's allowance for each session and a premium seat at 6.25 times.

A member who reaches a limit can wait for it to reset. The firm can also turn on usage credits, which the page says are charged at standard API rates. That is spending on top of the seat price, so for a heavy user the table gives the least the year will cost. Our guide to usage limits on paid plans has what each vendor publishes.

Pro or Team for a one-person firm

The gap between Pro at £180 and two Team seats at £432 is £252 a year. It buys a different contract.

  • Pro is a consumer plan. Anthropic's privacy page, dated 16 March 2026, says chats on Free, Pro and Max are used to improve its models if the user chooses to allow it, or if a chat is flagged for safety review. The pricing table labels training on those plans as opt-out.
  • Team is a commercial plan. The page says there is no model training on Team content by default. Anthropic's data processing addendum is part of its Commercial Terms, so a Team customer has it on accepting those terms.
  • Feedback is the exception on both. A chat rated with the thumbs-up or thumbs-down button may be used for training. A Team owner can switch those buttons off for the firm.

A firm that puts customers' personal data into the tool should be on the commercial contract. Our guide for accountants explains why for client data, and the online shop guide covers the one-person case.

How the price sits beside the others

Claude Team is not the cheapest of the four business plans. On annual billing it matches ChatGPT Business at £900 before VAT for five. On monthly billing it is dearer: £1,125 before VAT against £1,080, a gap of £45 a year. Google Workspace with Gemini and the Microsoft 365 Copilot add-on both cost less a seat, though each is tied to a wider subscription. The four are set side by side in our comparison of the business plans, and the same treatment for OpenAI is in what ChatGPT costs.

Overlyft is an AI agency that sets up AI office assistants for ten trades, set up in the firm's own office for a fixed price agreed after an audit, where the firm pays Anthropic directly for its own Claude plan and a person approves anything that goes to a customer; that gives us an interest in this page, and the prices on it are Anthropic's own.
