AdvisoryAI vs Automwrite: the published prices for AI suitability report tools on 1 October 2026, and what one report seat costs a small advice firm a year

AdvisoryAI publishes £299 a month per user for report drafting, Automwrite £249 a month plus VAT. Saturn and Aveni publish no price. The yearly sums.

AdvisoryAI's report-drafting tool costs £299 per user per month on monthly billing, and Automwrite's Platform plan costs £249 a month plus VAT. Both figures come from the vendors' own pricing pages, read in a browser on 1 October 2026. Saturn and Aveni, two other names advisers raise, published no price that day.

AI report tool questions email maker

Enter the vendor, the plan you were quoted and when your trial ends. The email puts our five questions to the vendor in writing before you sign.

  • Send it while the trial is running. On 1 October 2026 the two vendors in the guide offered 14 days and 3 days.
  • Ask for the answers in the written quote, so the monthly figure, the VAT treatment, the term and the notice period sit in one document.
  • Before a client file goes into a trial, read our guide to AI and client data, which sets out six conditions to meet first.
  • Whichever tool drafts the report, it still has to contain what COBS 9.4.7R lists.

The rule this rests on: The five questions in our guide; no rule sets them. A draft to check and adapt, not legal advice. Regulated work: the adviser, and the compliance function where the firm's procedures require it, reviews and signs every client-facing document and every suitability decision; the AI assistant prepares, checks and chases, it never advises.

Two warnings about reading these pages.

AdvisoryAI's page shows two sets of figures. When we loaded it, the price cards were on the annual setting, labelled "save up to 10%", and showed £89, £269 and £89 plus VAT. The questions section lower down gives the monthly prices: £99, £299 and £99. That section does not mention VAT, so ask whether VAT is added to the monthly figures as it is to the annual ones.

Automwrite's two Starter plans list meeting recording, transcription, meeting summaries and document capture. Report writing appears in the description of the Platform plan. The page does not say whether £249 buys one seat or covers the whole firm, and for a firm of three that answer changes the yearly figure threefold.

What Saturn and Aveni publish

Saturn's website had no pricing page on 1 October 2026. The address where one would sit returned "not found", and the home page asks firms to "Get in touch with us". Aveni's page for Aveni Assist showed no price and offers a demo. For both, the price is whatever the quote says, so get the monthly figure, the term and the notice period in writing.

The names come from a paraplanner forum thread titled "What AI tools or services are you using or looking at?", which had 33 comments when we read it. Members there name Saturn, Advisory AI and Aveni alongside general tools such as ChatGPT and Claude. Automwrite is on this page because it publishes a price.

The sums for one firm

The firm is the one in our cashflow tool price check: two advisers and one paraplanner, with the paraplanner drafting the reports.

Line AdvisoryAI Automwrite
One report seat, monthly billing £299 × 12 = £3,588 £249 × 12 = £2,988 plus VAT
One report seat, annual billing £269 × 12 = £3,228 plus VAT Not offered on the page
Meeting notes for two advisers £99 × 2 × 12 = £2,376 £29.99 × 2 × 12 = £719.76 plus VAT, if Starter is priced per adviser
Report seats for all three people £299 × 3 × 12 = £10,764 £249 × 3 × 12 = £8,964 plus VAT if Platform is per user; £2,988 plus VAT if it covers the firm

Choosing annual billing at AdvisoryAI saves £3,588 less £3,228, which is £360 a year on one report seat, in exchange for a year's commitment.

A firm that cannot recover VAT pays more than the listed figure. At the standard rate of 20%, a £2,988 seat costs £3,585.60 and a £3,228 seat costs £3,873.60.

A price per report is more useful than a price per month. If the paraplanner drafts 10 reports a month, a £299 seat is £29.90 a report and a £249 seat is £24.90, before VAT and before the time spent checking each draft. At 4 reports a month the same seats are £74.75 and £62.25 a report.

What the price does not tell you

Both vendors make claims about time. AdvisoryAI's card for Emma says "Save up to 80% time in extraction". That is the vendor's figure and we have not tested it. The trial is where to test it: 14 days on one list, 3 days on the other, and the Platform plan is sold through a conversation with the vendor, not a trial button.

A draft still has to be read. Our admin scorecard keeps a quarter of every drafted job's hours for checking, and that share is an assumption you should replace with your own timing.

Five questions before you sign

  1. Per user or per firm, and who needs a seat? If only the paraplanner drafts, one seat may be enough. Get the answer in the quote.
  2. Is VAT on top, and what is the term? Ask for the monthly figure, the VAT treatment and the notice period.
  3. Does it write on your template? Run one real case from fact-find to finished draft during the trial, on the firm's own template.
  4. What does it read from? AdvisoryAI's page lists Intelliflo, Curo, XPlan and Plannr integrations for its meeting-notes product. Ask each vendor which back office the report tool reads, and who checks what it pulls in.
  5. Where does client data go? Our guide to AI and client data in an advice firm sets out six conditions to meet before a tool touches a client file.

Who signs

Whichever tool drafts the report, the report has to contain what COBS 9.4.7R lists, and the suitability report file check tests for that before the adviser reads it.

Overlyft can also set up an AI assistant that drafts suitability reports on a firm's own template for the adviser to amend and sign. It is not priced, scored or ranked on this page. The adviser, and compliance where the firm's procedures require it, reviews and signs anything a tool drafts. This page is general information, not regulatory or financial advice.
